Jesus Christ: The Good News of God’s Grace to the World

Around the world, people know the name of Jesus (Yeshua = “Yahweh saves”). Some recognize Him as a prophet, others as a great teacher, and many as the founder of Christianity. Yet the Bible reveals that Jesus Christ is far more than these: He is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the only way for humanity to be reconciled to God.

This message is not only for those who call themselves Christians by name, but for every person—whether from another religion, culture, or background. The good news is that God’s grace is offered through Jesus Christ, who gave His life as a ransom for all.

Who Is Jesus Christ According to Scripture?

The Old Testament foretold the coming of a Savior:

  • “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
  • “But you, Bethlehem… out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times” (Micah 5:2).

In the New Testament, these prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus.

  • The angel told Joseph: “You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
  • Jesus Himself declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

This shows us that Jesus is not merely one way among many; He is the only way God has provided for salvation.

The Vine and the Branches: Jesus’ Own Words

To make His role clear, Jesus used a beautiful illustration:

  • “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

This picture teaches us:

  • Just as branches depend entirely on the vine for life and fruit, so people must remain in Christ to truly live and be fruitful.
  • Being connected to Jesus brings life, growth, and purpose. Without Him, even religious practices are empty.

Why It Is Important to Know Christ

Knowing Christ is not by chance. The Bible teaches that God Himself draws people to Him:

  • “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them” (John 6:44).

At the same time, the gospel is to be preached to all nations (Mark 16:15). God invites everyone, but only those who respond in faith and repentance truly come to know Him.

What Happens to Those Who Accept the Gospel?

Those who receive Christ are given incredible promises:

  • Forgiveness of sins: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
  • Eternal life: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
  • Adoption as children of God: “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

They gain a new relationship with God, peace in their hearts, and the assurance of everlasting life.

What Do They Lose?

Those who come to Christ lose only what harms them:

  • The guilt of sin (Psalm 103:12).
  • Fear of eternal judgment (Romans 8:1).
  • Bondage to a meaningless life (John 8:36).

In exchange, they receive freedom, purpose, and eternal joy in Christ.

Is the Father of Jesus a Good God?

Yes. Jesus revealed the heart of His Father clearly:

  • “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
  • “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

The Father is good and intends only what is good for His children. His desire is not to condemn, but to save (John 3:17).

The Good News of Grace

The core of the gospel is this: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

Jesus Christ willingly laid down His life so that we might live. His grace is not earned by rituals or religious works but received through faith:

  • “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

A Personal Invitation

Friend, whether you come from another faith, call yourself a Christian only by tradition, or are seeking truth, Jesus invites you:

  • “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

To know Christ is to know life itself. To be joined to Him, like branches to the vine, is to bear fruit that lasts forever.

The good news is simple yet life-changing: God loves you, Christ died for you, and through Him you can be forgiven, restored, and made a child of God.
